Stellantis NV's new CEO Antonio Filosa continues to tweak his North American leadership team, with the latest move bringing back veteran sales executive Jason Stoicevich to work with regional dealers.

Stoicevich had briefly been the American sales chief last year before departing for personal reasons. After a stint as a vice president at Southern California's Sierra Automotive Group, he returns to the carmaker this week to oversee dealer strategy and performance for North America, spokesperson Diane Morgan confirmed.

He reports to Tim Kuniskis, the Ram brand CEO who himself recently took on broader responsibilities under Filosa working with all the American brands as well as marketing and retail strategies across the region. Stoicevich had been president of Stellantis Canada before his brief tenure leading sales efforts in the United States, and he previously held a number of other roles with the company. Automotive News first reported his rehiring.

The Stoicevich return is the latest move by the carmaker under the new CEO as it tries to turn around slumping sales and repair relationships with its dealer body in the profit-rich United States that were strained under former CEO Carlos Tavares.

Retailers have sounded increasingly optimistic about the changes recently. They have made the case for certain hires, including the Kuniskis promotion and appointment of Filosa himself, who they had gotten to know well when he was in charge of North American operations. In the second quarter, overall Stellantis U.S. sales fell again, though the carmaker's two top-selling regional brands, Jeep and Ram, made sales gains compared to a year prior.

Earlier this year, the carmaker added another executive to help turn around regional sales. Michael Ferreira, a former AutoNation executive, took over as head of U.S. fleet sales, joining longtime Stellantis executive Jeff Kommor, who now focuses on U.S. retail sales.
