Brandon Saad's 1st goal with Golden Knights not enough in 4th consecutive defeat, 2-1 to Islanders
Published in Hockey
The Golden Knights lost their fourth straight game in a 2-1 loss to the New York Islanders at UBS Arena on Tuesday.
Brandon Saad scored the game-tying goal at 7:40 of the third period, his first tally since signing a one-year deal with the Knights on Friday.
It was Saad’s first goal since scoring a hat trick with the St. Louis Blues on Jan. 3.
But the Islanders broke the tie less than three minutes later on a tip from Brock Nelson to retake the lead.
Goaltender Ilya Samsonov finished with 12 saves. Islanders goalie Ilya Sorokin, who had a 30-save shutout at T-Mobile Arena on Jan. 9, made 34 saves.
The Knights (31-17-6) are 3-8-3 in their past 14 games. Ten of their 11 losses have been one-goal games in the third period.
