Blueair's Blue Pure 511i Max is a compact advanced air purification appliance ideal for keeping the air in your home or office clean and healthy.

According to the Blueair site, the AC-powered 14.5-by-9.3-by-9.3/4.2-pound device can clean the air at a rate of 193 feet in 12.5 minutes, 460 feet in 30 minutes, and 920 feet in 1 hour. Its clean air delivery rate is 125 cubic feet per minute. To achieve maximum performance, it's best used in a 193-foot room, allowing the Blue Pure 511i Max to clean the air at the AHAM recommendation of four times every 12.5 minutes.

During this time, the system has five filtration layers to remove 99.97% of airborne particles down to 0.1 microns, which can include pollen, cooking odors, smoke, dust, pet dander, mold, chemicals and allergen matter. It also lists tiny particles, including viruses and bacteria, to be captured. An indicator displays the air quality in five levels: very polluted, polluted, moderate, good and excellent.

The Blue Pure 511i Max ($139.99) has Bluetooth and Wi-Fi (2.4 GHz) for easy connections. Using it is simple: press the power button, choose the mode (auto or night), and choose your fan speeds.

It is built with a 360-degree air intake, allowing it to be placed almost anywhere in a room, even hidden behind furniture. If you're so included, put it front/center and right on your coffee table. As long as you have power, it will do its thing and help prioritize wellness while cleaning the air you breathe.

With the Blueair app and the air purifier's Wi-Fi, you can choose your mode and fan speed for the optimal clean air needed in your environment. The app also allows you to set custom schedules, power the purifier on or off, and set the child lock.

Even at high speed, the air purification appliance isn't loud. Its maximum noise level is 42 dB on high fan speed, and it can go as low as 19 dB on the lowest setting. The Welcome Home feature automatically turns the Blue Pure 511i Max on when you leave the house and arrive back home.

RealTrack in-app filter monitoring tracks the replaceable filter and alerts you when it needs to be changed based on pollutant levels. The filter will last up to one year (it could vary based on your conditions and how much it is used), and a filter replacement LED will glow red as a reminder that it needs attention.

This air purifier uses an activated carbon filter, which can be cleaned or replaced in just a few steps. Filters can be purchased individually or delivered on a schedule with the filter subscription plan. Specialty filter add-ons are available ($44.99) for additional protection against smoke or allergens.

The SmokeBlock filter is rated to have twice as much activated carbon as the original Particle and Carbon filter to remove up to 99.99% of wildfire smoke. The AllergenBlock filter protects against allergens by trapping and neutralizing dust, pollen, and pet dander. If you were unfamiliar with the term "pet dander," a quick Google search told me it is defined as a collection of dead skin cells and hair animals shed. This includes cats, dogs, guinea pigs, birds and rabbits.

A pre-filter add-on is available for $8.99 in three color choices (moss, stockholder fog and sand) to help integrate the Blue Pure 511i Max into the space it will be used. It is constructed kid-friendly without sharp edges and has a child lock to keep children out of the controls.
