Anger Management

Holiday Mathis on

Mars joining powerful luminaries in Aries brings an examination of that spark-plug emotion known as anger. While fear moves us away from danger, anger moves us toward the problem. It shows where a boundary has been crossed, strips away politeness and energizes action. Before denying or expressing anger, ask it to teach you something clear and true.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). Challenge revitalizes you. You're so good at picking the one that is just the right size to invigorate and not enough to discourage -- for instance, by adding a time constraint or an offbeat element which serves to turn the task into a game.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). Your deepest desire is for honesty. Inwardly, you keep asking what's real. You want to know if people will do as they say, and if they are who they present themselves to be. You've an excellent sense for it.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). A jacket can be beautifully made, high quality, stylish... and still not fit the person who tries it on. The issue isn't the jacket's value. It's compatibility. The options in front of you are neutral in value. The real question is which ones feel natural and workable for you.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). It's a caution so classic it's at the center of stories as old as time: Pride goeth before the fall. And today, once again, the cosmic omens warn against overconfidence. Humility keeps the good fortune flowing.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Your compassion has you forgetting to wonder, "What's in it for me?" But skipping this part would be akin to wasting your time. It's OK to lead with your own best interests, which include finding the right match for your generosity.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). You're thankful to be out of survival mode, but the lessons you learned there still apply, and you can conjure the vibe when you need to. You focus intently on what matters. The nonsense shrinks to its proper size.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Harmony isn't luck. It's the art of tiny, well-timed corrections. You're unusually good at spotting the small adjustments that make everything work better. Move the meeting five minutes, shift the tone slightly, add a dash of humor... voila!

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). A conversation veers into interesting territory, and you're keen to stay with it. There's an idea here just for you. Perhaps it arrives sideways through humor, curiosity and a willingness to follow a strange thought.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Today it's less about what's good or bad and more about what clicks. Don't overthink it. You will get grounded as you redirect your focus toward what feels like home. The path forms before your feet.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). You pick up on something subtle -- a key that will open a whole new territory. You feel the truth, and you feel the untruth. A stray comment, a tiny inconsistency, a clue hiding in plain sight... and you're led to investigate further.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You do what's right even when no one is watching -- that is when you know the right thing to do. When you don't, you can't be blamed for the outcome. You're still working it out. Let the experimentation lead you to what works.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). You read energy well. You can feel the difference between someone truly present with you versus someone who's just occupying adjacent space. Knowing who's genuinely tuned in becomes a kind of superpower today that affects future social and professional decisions.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (April 11). It's your Year of Stunningly Effective Rituals when you turn desire into a series of actions that bring it into being. Whether it's lucky moves, careful preparations, following the perfect recipe or using your powers of attraction in truly inspired ways, your mindset becomes magic and your magic manifests. More highlights: Three lucky wins, a significant purchase you've waited years to make, several dream dates. Leo and Aquarius adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 11, 1, 40, 23 and 17.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: In 1999, the predecessor of this column and my astrological mentor Joyce Jillson took me to see the theatrical sensation "Fool Moon" for which the magical Bill Irwin won a special Tony. This year he performs "On Beckett" at the Shakespeare Theater Company. Irwin has over a hundred performance credits in film and television, though children around the world know him best as Mr. Noodle from "Sesame Street."
