Virgo Season Wind Down

Holiday Mathis on

Boredom is the clearest signal you have that it's time to move on. Unfortunately, many times boredom visits inside a situation that is hard to move from. We can feel trapped in work and tedium in the final days of Virgo season. If it feels hard, notice why. Even if you power through, it's good to note the change you crave in the next era.

ARIES (March 21-April 19). As you work, you may notice you don't want to. That's the nature of work: resistance itself. The more you face the difficulty head-on, the stronger and more capable you become. Today's skill to practice is simple: do it anyway.

TAURUS (April 20-May 20). To know people is to know the world. The more you understand people, the richer and more complete your understanding of life itself becomes. You embody the principle today as you follow curiosity to new layers of experience.

GEMINI (May 21-June 21). The gritty reality? Love doesn't erase irritation. In fact, the closer you get, the more likely someone's quirks will get on your nerves. Today, you'll be proud you've built something mature enough to hold annoyance and affection at once.

CANCER (June 22-July 22). You stepped up when help was needed, and now, months and years later, the world is different because of that act. Something bigger is being born: a friendship, a partnership, maybe even romance or a mentor bond.

LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). Enough talking about it -- it's time to make plans to meet up in real life. Being in the same room with your favorite people does wonders. Laughter boosts your health, hugs reset your mood, and memories form that no text chain could match.

VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). It feels like magic when it happens, but every once in a while, the internal world obeys your command. You set your mood like a thermostat programmed to hit the perfect number. And somehow, just by telling yourself how you're going to feel, you do.

LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). Your body is calling out for an energy boost. What's the move that will help you recharge? More sleep? Better diet? Stress relief? Make that shift so your energy can rise, and you'll move dynamically into the next phase.

SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). You know that when someone makes a big show of pride, it can actually reveal insecurity. Today, you'll experience calm, grounded and inward confidence without feeling the need to flaunt it. It's real, it's earned, and it's yours.

SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Some people will judge your desires or goals as "too much" -- not because they actually are, but because they wouldn't ask for them. Trust your own sense of what you want and what might be possible.

CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Today highlights your emotional discretion and boundaries. Instead of laying your feelings out in every moment, you'll share only when it's directly relevant to what's happening. To avoid unnecessary drama keeps interactions smooth.

AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You're right to be proud of the fact that you don't have to make every interaction about you. Some people can't manage it. When you connect with others, you leave them space. You make them feel special. That's why they come back to you with loyalty and love.

PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Adventure doesn't always mean travel or action. Today, the "call" comes from within. Your imagination is the mapmaker; introspection is how you sketch the terrain before you walk it. Before you set out, let yourself dream.

TODAY'S BIRTHDAY (Sept. 15). Welcome to your Year of the Heart Flame. You have too much fire not to prevail! The joy you assumed was some distant oasis is already here -- tucked into your work, your relationships, your humor and spirit. More highlights: Three adventures and the perfect accompaniment, the position that best highlights your talent, and the thriving of loved ones -- a relief and a source of pride and togetherness. Gemini and Cancer adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 12, 9, 4, 20 and 50.

CELEBRITY PROFILES: Oscar winner Tommy Lee Jones will star in the upcoming action-thriller "The Razor's Edge." Like a Virgo, Jones works hard and smart at everything he does, and what he does is keep us guessing. The Harvard graduate, bilingual cowboy, former football player and art collector can spectacularly obliterate aliens in one movie, then quietly bare his soul in the next. Natal Venus in Scorpio, the sign of transformation, suggests his creative life is an ever-evolving and unpredictable journey.
