Lauren Conrad recalls driving test disaster

Lauren Conrad failed her driving test after she was pulled over by police.
The former Laguna Beach star was stopped by a cop for "going too slow" on the roads but the officer decided against giving her a ticket when he grasped the specifics of the unique situation.
Asked if she'd ever got in trouble with the law, Lauren said on The Drew Barrymore Show: "I've never been arrested or anything but I did - one of my most embarrassing stories is I got pulled over by a cop on my driving test."
Surprised, Drew asked: "Oh! Was the teacher next to you? Did that go well, or…?"
After Lauren confirmed the instructor was with her, she added: "Well, I didn't pass."
The 40-year-old reality star noted the cop found the situation "so funny".
She recalled: "He was like, 'License and registration!' And the teacher leaned over and he goes, 'We're actually, uh… We're working on the license right now.'
"[The cop] was like, 'I'm not gonna give you a ticket because I've clearly ruined your day, but in my 15 years I've never had this happen.' "
Drew quipped: "Well, again, timing is everything."
Lauren - who has sons Liam, eight, and Charlie, six, with husband William Tell - also recalled a time her dad caught her and her friends sneaking out of the house to cause mischief.
But rather than reprimand his daughter, Lauren's dad stunned the group when he decided to join in with their antics.
She explained: "We snuck out because we really wanted to go toilet papering. I was having a slumber party with girlfriends and my parents told me no.
"It was like two blocks away from my house and my dad pulls up in the car."
Admitting she thought she was going to be in "so much trouble", she added: "He was like, 'Get in the car!' I get in the car, he's like, 'Okay, we're gonna go home, but first we're gonna go toilet papering because I really love toilet papering.'
"He's like, 'Don't tell your mom!' And he took us!"
Lauren recently admitted she feels "settled and happy" after turning her back on fame.
She told People magazine: "I really appreciate private moments. Nobody cares who I am here [in Laguna Beach]. It's such a privilege to be able to live my life for myself after putting many years on camera.
"The fields [my sons are] playing on are the same fields I played soccer on. I feel really lucky to be able to raise my kids in the same space I grew up. It's a really special place ...
"I don't think they really understand [that I'm famous], and I don't think they're that interested, to be honest. Once in a while, I'll be like: 'Oh, look! Mama did this.' And they're like, 'Okay ...' Someday, they'll get it.
"I feel very settled and happy. I just feel grateful right now."
