Percy Jackson star Walker Scobell skipping prom over death threats

Percy Jackson star Walker Scobell is skipping his high school prom because death threats have been sent to his potential dates.
The 17-year-old actor - who stars in Disney Plus series Percy Jackson and the Olympians - has revealed he's decided not to attend the milestone event because so many teenage girls who live in his area have been targeted by nasty messages from over-zealous fans.
In a post on Instagram, he wrote: "Just to let everyone know, I will not be attending prom. Please stop sending death threats to EVERY teenage girl who could remotely be associated with me based on their proximity to where I live.
"It's not fair to them or their families. Maybe also just stop sending death threats in general. That's just not cool. Kinda weird I have to say this."
Walker did not give any more details about the threats allegedly sent to the teens.
Despite missing out on his prom, Walker still has plenty to look forward to this year and he recently revealed he's hoping to pass his driver's test.
He told Behind The Blinds magazine: "I'm really excited to get my driver's license. That's my number one thing. I'm not that confident in my ability to parallel park, so we'll see how it goes."
The teen actor also opened up about filming series two of Percy Jackson and the Olympians - which finished airing in January - revealing he was plagued by vivid dreams throughout the shoot.
He told the publication: " I had a dream every single night filming season two, either related to Percy or my life. I have weird dreams all the time; it's definitely similar to the show. I'd wake up every morning, and [co-star] Aryan [Simhadri] and my acting coach would try to figure out what they meant.
"There have been times when I have had a dream of a scene that I'm about to do. I'll have a dream of me messing up horribly.
"Then I have to fight that feeling in reality. I had a dream that when I went to my trailer, there was a body there. The crew was like: 'You did this! This is your fault'. Then I woke up, and I've never been more relieved in my life."
