Jessie J feared she had broken her neck after hitting her head on the roof of a car.
The 37-year-old singer, born Jessica Cornish, made the admission as she addressed an incident that led to her being taken to hospital for an MRI scan while on tour in Beijing.
Jessie shared details of the injury in an Instagram post as she travelled to a concert in the Chinese capital.
In footage posted online, she is seen climbing into the back of a car before striking her head on the roof.
She later shared clips from hospital, including undergoing an MRI scan, and posted further updates while backstage preparing to perform despite the injury.
Speaking in a video update, Jessie told fans: "Yeah, I just can't move my head. I'm alright. I'll just have to take some painkillers and march right through it.
"I thought I'd broken my neck, but I haven't. But I have really hurt my neck and my back."
Jessie has recently undergone two operations following a cancer diagnosis in 2025, and has spoken publicly about her recovery.
The latest injury also comes during a busy period of touring and follows her appearance on the Women's Health UK Just As Well podcast, where she discussed plans to expand her career beyond music.
On the podcast, Jessica outlined ambitions to pursue comedy and acting in the coming year, alongside continuing her music career.
She said: "Next year I'd love to go into stand-up. I would love to do comedy more. I'd love to do film."
Jessie began performing as a child in musical theatre, including productions such as Andrew Lloyd Webber's Whistle Down the Wind, and has since taken on voice roles in films including Ice Age: Collision Course.
She also described her intention to balance new creative ventures with returning to songwriting and touring.
Jessie said: "I'm obviously touring a lot next year. I definitely want to make more music. I haven't written a song for three years, but I know it's all there ready to come out.
"I just want to be happy. Happy, sane, enjoying what I do, calm, healthy, being as present as a mum as I am as at work with some decent tunes out.
"And maybe doing something that challenges me, whether it's a book or a children's album or comedy or Broadway or film, whatever's going to come will come."
