Faster Horses country music festival not returning for 2026

DETROIT — The Faster Horses country music festival, which took 2025 off and promised the return of a "bigger and better Faster Horses," is not galloping into 2026 either.
"Faster Horses Music Festival will not return in 2026," a message on the Faster Horses webpage reads. "While the festival will not take place this year, we are proud of the memories made and the impact it has had on live music in Michigan. We remain grateful to the fans, artists, partners, and the Michigan International Speedway community who have supported Faster Horses over the years."
The festival, which was last run in 2024, announced a "pause" in January 2025.
"Dear Fans, we have made the decision to pause Faster Horses Festival in 2025. We are taking the year to make plans for a bigger and better Faster Horses for our fans who deserve the absolute best," read a message posted to the fest's website at the time.
"We love our friends at Michigan International Speedway, the community, and all of those behind the scenes," read the 2025 statement, which was signed by "BOC," short for Brian O'Connell, the head of Faster Horses and Live Nation's head of country touring. "While we hope to bring you something in the future, for now we encourage you to keep the community strong and support live music in Michigan!"
The three-day country music festival, held at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, launched in 2013 and was held annually at MIS on the third weekend in July, save for 2020, when it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Over its 11 years, Faster Horses hosted many of the top acts in country music, including Jason Aldean, Keith Urban, Miranda Lambert, Luke Bryan, Dierks Bentley, Brooks & Dunn, Blake Shelton, Zac Brown Band and more.
The festival, produced by Live Nation, was referred to by organizers as a "three-day hillbilly sleepover." It typically drew around 40,000 hard-partying fans, who camped out on the MIS grounds and decorated their campsites with American flags while sporting 10-gallon hats and cowboy boots into the festival grounds.
The 2024 Faster Horses festival featured Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson and Hardy.
