79th Tony Awards return to Radio City Music Hall on June 7

NEW YORK — The Tony Awards will be back at Radio City Music Hall for the 2026 ceremony honoring the best in American theater and shining the biggest spotlight on the season’s best productions of plays and musicals on Broadway.
Producers announced Monday that the annual event is set for Sunday, June 7, at the historic New York City concert hall.
The 79th Annual Tony Awards will mark the second consecutive year back at the venue following recent stints in Washington Heights and Lincoln Center. In 2021, the 74th ceremony — celebrating productions from the 2019-2020 season — was delayed and held at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theatre.
Radio City Music Hall had traditionally been home to the Tony Awards since 1997.
Tony Award Productions, a joint venture of the American Theatre Wing and The Broadway League, also announced the eligibility cut-off date for the 2025-2026 season is April 26 for all Broadway productions that meet all other eligibility requirements. Nominations will be announced May 5.
A host will be announced at a later date. “Wicked” star Cynthia Erivo hosted last year’s ceremony, with Oscar Award-winning Broadway star Ariana DeBose hosting the three years prior.
The awards will broadcast live at 8 p.m. on CBS and stream on Paramount+.
