Cynthia Nixon has outlined her unexpectedly ambitious Thanksgiving plans.
Revealing she will host more than 20 guests despite working through the holiday period, the Sex and the City actress, 59, discussed her preparations during an interview with People at The Gilded Age FYC event in New York City, speaking while balancing her Broadway schedule for Marjorie Prime.
People reported when asked about her plans, Cynthia said: "I'm having 22 (people over) for Thanksgiving at my house."
She added she has only one day off from her latest filming production, saying: "I only have a day off from my show, but I'm gonna try and do some stuff in advance, I think."
Cynthia reiterated about her hosting duties: "Twenty-two people."
People noted Cynthia did not specify who would be joining her for the holiday meal.
But those likely to attend include her three children and her wife, Christine Marinoni.
Cynthia is mother to Seph, 29, Charles, 22, and Max, 14.
The actress is currently starring in Jordan Harrison's Pulitzer prize-finalist play Marjorie Prime, performing alongside June Squibb.
In the production, Cynthia plays Tess, the daughter of Squibb's character Marjorie, who faces challenges connected to memory and loss while interacting with a holographic companion created to resemble her late husband.
The production is directed by Anne Kauffman.
Cynthia has built a four-decade career that has made her one of the most recognisable and enduring actors on American stage and screen.
Raised in New York, she began working professionally as a teenager, quickly establishing herself as a versatile performer with early roles in film, television and theatre.
By her early twenties she was appearing regularly on Broadway, where she has continued to work throughout her career, earning critical acclaim for both dramatic and comedic performances.
Her most widely known role came in 1998 with HBO's Sex and the City, in which she played Miranda Hobbes. The series became a global cultural phenomenon, running for six seasons and winning multiple awards.
Cynthia's portrayal of Miranda - sharp, ambitious and often the show's moral anchor - earned her a Primetime Emmy and cemented her place within one of television's most influential ensembles.
The success of the series led to two feature films, both of which saw her reprise the role for international audiences.
In 2021 she returned for And Just Like That, the revival SATC series that continued the story of the original characters for a new era.
