Sound Advice: Get blown away by electric air duster
Published in Entertainment News
Extremely versatile, super-powerful mini blower/duster: When I first saw the Wolfbox MF50 Electric Air Duster on Amazon I thought it would be useful for removing dust from turntable styluses, but it turns out it can do so much more. The product listing showed it sells over 20,000 units per month with a 4.6/5 rating, and a product video showed the tiny MF50 being used to clean off porches, fill up air mattresses, remove light snow and leaves from cars, and to fan the flames of a campfire. Intrigued, I purchased one and now it gets used almost every day.
The Wolfbox MF50 is lightweight but feels as solid as a brick, recharges via USB-C and has three power settings. The top setting is extremely powerful, yet quiet. It's like having a tiny leaf blower in your hand and attachments are included to modify the airflow. Having something so small, powerful and adjustable practically creates a new type of household device, and it quickly proved its worth. My new induction range has a thin crevice that runs along the back of the glass top, and some crumbs had collected in it. A microfiber duster did not remove them, but with the MF50 the crumbs were gone with one burst. It works great clearing crumbs from kitchen countertops into the sink, and loosening and removing dirt where the cabinets meet the floor.
I started a fire in my Big Green Egg charcoal grill and used my MF50 on the barely glowing coals. Within a minute it was roaring. I brought it to my girlfriend's house and it quickly removed all the dust and dirt from her porch, easily cleaning hard-to-reach places under furniture. An artist friend said it would be perfect for dusting his miniatures collection, and later I showed it to my auto mechanic. He said, "that thing is way better than my compressed air blaster, and if I can borrow it I am going to use it with that rebuild job over there!" My friend the handyman was installing a curtain rod at my house. I showed him the MF50 and he laughed and said, "I picked it up and used it to clean up when you were outside. That thing is amazing. Where can I get one?"
I used the MF50 to dry my CPAP mask and hose after cleaning, the nozzle fitting perfectly into the end of the hose. When my central AC condenser fan wasn't running, I used the MF50 to spin it to see if I could get the motor started. It was strong enough to spin the fan, though the unit turned out to be kaput and now I have a brand new air conditioner. Going forward the MF50 will be used regularly to keep the new air conditioner's cooling fins free of dirt and debris. I plan on getting a second MF50 to keep in the car for leaf and snow removal.
The Wolfbox MF50 sells for $39.99 on Amazon and currently the code TURBOFAN reduces the price $10 to $29.98. For under $30 I love it and I think you will, too!
Q. On your recommendation I purchased a TCL QM8 TV and Klipsch Flexus Core 100 soundbar. How do I connect them with each other and my cable box?
—J.O., Minneapolis
A. Connect the soundbar's HDMI port to the TV's HDMI-eARC port, connect your cable box and any other devices to the other TV HDMI ports and turn on HDMI-CEC in the television's setup menu. Anything on the TV will play audio through the soundbar, and your TV remote will control the soundbar volume as well.
