Savannah Guthrie offers $1M reward for mom, acknowledges she may be gone

Savannah Guthrie’s family is putting up its own $1 million reward that leads to the “recovery” of her elderly mother, Nancy Guthrie, who was nabbed from her home in the middle of the night early this month, and who the “Today” show host acknowledged may have died.
The 84-year-old matriarch was last seen at her Tucson home on Jan. 31, though doorbell camera footage released by the FBI shows a masked man approaching the residence in the early-morning hours of Feb. 1. Nancy was reported missing later that day, and a desperate search has been underway ever since.
“Today” show host Savannah, 54, released a tearful video Tuesday morning announcing the $1 million reward amid the enduring “agony” of her mother’s disappearance: “Someone out there knows something that can bring her home. … And we are begging you to please come forward now.”
“So please, if you hear this message, if you’ve been waiting and you haven’t been sure, let this be your sign to please come forward, tell what you know, and help us bring our beloved mom home, so that we can either celebrate a glorious, miraculous homecoming or celebrate the beautiful, brave, and courageous, and noble life that she has lived,” said Savannah. “Please be the light in the dark.
Though the family does “still believe in a miracle,” Savannah said they “also know that she may be lost” and “may have already gone home to the Lord that she loves and is dancing in heaven. … And if this is what is to be, then we will accept it.”
She announced that the family will also donate $500,000 to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children to help other families whose loved ones are missing.
The FBI’s Phoenix bureau has described the suspect as a male with an average build, standing between 5-feet-9 and 5-feet-10, who was wearing a 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Backpack, a ski mask, gloves and a holster.
The FBI has already doubled its reward for information to $100,000. The Pima County Sheriff’s Department last week shared that 88-CRIME had received an anonymous $100,000 reward, along with the $2,500 put up by the tip line.
