LOS ANGELES — The Los Angeles Police Department is currently in possession of surveillance footage from D4vd’s rental home that could reveal whether teenage Celeste Rivas was at his house prior to her being found dead in the trunk of the singer’s Tesla.

The LAPD reportedly seized video from multiple cameras at the Hollywood Hills property owned by Malden Trifunovic while executing a search warrant last month. Trifunovic told TMZ that the cameras would have recorded anyone coming or going from the house.

The homeowner clarified that he did not have access to the footage for tenant privacy reasons, so he doesn’t know if Rivas was ever there. Earlier this week, Trifunovic said he hired a private investigator to look into the girl’s death due to the LAPD’s lack of progress in the case.

The 15-year-old’s dismembered and decomposing remains were discovered on Sept. 8, days after a Telsa registered to D4vd had been towed from down the block near the rental home, where it appeared to have been left in the same spot for an extended period.

Rivas was found nearly a year and a half after she disappeared from her family’s home in Lake Elsinore, Calif., about 75 miles southeast of where the vehicle was abandoned. She was just 13 when she was reported missing.

While her death is being investigated as a homicide, it remains unclear exactly how or when she died. The LAPD has not named a suspect or even a person of interest in the case.

D4vd, whose legal name is David Burke, is said to be cooperating with authorities.

While the LAPD has declined to comment on the 20-year-old singer’s potential connection to Rivas, her mother told TMZ that her daughter had a boyfriend named David. Both Rivas and D4vd reportedly had matching “Shhh…” tattoos on their right index fingers, while a since-leaked 2023 song linked to D4vd is titled “Celeste.”

Sources told TMZ that people who knew the pair believed they were a couple, but were under the impression that Rivas was a college student around 19 years old.
