DENVER — An Aurora Science & Tech Middle School student was seriously injured after she was stabbed by another student during an argument, police said Wednesday.
The two girls were outside on school grounds when they began arguing, the Aurora Police Department said in a post on social media. As the argument escalated, one of the girls stabbed the other.
The victim was taken to the hospital, the other girl was detained by police and the school was put on a secure perimeter, police officials said.
DSST Public Schools officials confirmed there was an “altercation” between two students on Wednesday and said both students are safe.
“… We are closely following all necessary safety procedures and the guidance of law enforcement and (Aurora Public Schools) Safety and Security,” district officials said in a statement.
